WASHINGTON CO. CELEBRATES ITS VETERANS

  

Dozens turned out Tuesday morning at Veterans Plaza to commemorate our local veterans at the annual Washington County Veterans’ Association celebration of Veterans Day.

Local veterans were joined by city and county dignitaries as well at local State Representative Lois Kolkhorst.

The keynote speaker for today’s (Tuesday’s) ceremony was Army Chaplain Major John R. Sutton, Retired, who currently serves as the pastor at Welcome Lutheran Chursch.

Major Sutton echoed the sentiment that freedom is never free…

Following Sutton’s address was followed by the traditional tolling of the bell for every member of a veterans organization who died since the previous Veterans Day.
