WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS APPROVE AMBULANCE PURCHASES

Washington County Commissioners approved purchases for a new county ambulance at today’s (Tuesday) meeting.

Commissioners were presented with three bids and opted to buy through Appel Ford, because its bid included the purchase and installation of a new chassis and liquid spring suspension system.  Caldwell Country’s bid only accounted for the purchase of the chassis.

Total costs for the new parts are just over $55,300.  Commissioner Joy Fuchs said this purchase is accounted for in the budget.

Commissioners also approved a price increase in the steel products contract between the Washington County Road and Bridge Department and the Railroad Yard, Inc. of Stillwater, Oklahoma.

According to County Engineer Ross McCall, the $18,000 price increase comes from tariffs, as well as high demand for steel construction in the area.  McCall said the Road and Bridge Department will go through with the purchase as soon as a bid is submitted, to avoid further price hikes.

The court also approved a road bore on Spanish Oaks Drive for a new water line, as well as a pair of subdivision variance requests on Red Tip Lane and on Jaeger Road.
