WASHINGTON CO. FAIR CELEBRATING 150 YEARS WITH T-SHIRT CONTEST

The Washington County Fair is marking its 150th anniversary with a youth t-shirt contest.

The Fair is celebrating its sesquicentennial with commemorative shirts, along with other activities.  Washington County children ages 5-18 will be able to enter the contest.

The design contest committee says artwork must be family-friendly and related to the fair, and can be submitted in color or black and white outline.  Submissions need to be on 8-1/2 inch-by 11 inch paper or in PDF/JPEG format.  Entries should include the contestant’s name, age, address and phone number on the back.

The committee says there are no limits to the amount of entries that can be submitted.  The winning design will be turned into a t-shirt, with the winner receiving a prize and a ride in the fair parade, as well as a shirt of their own.  The top 10 to 12 entries will be featured in a coloring book sold at the Fair.

Winners will be announced during the queen kickoff at the event centers on August 13.  The deadline for entries is Monday, July 16 at 2 p.m.  Submissions go to the fair office, at 1305 East Blue Bell Road, or by email at washingtoncofair@sbcglobal.net.
