WASHINGTON CO. REPORTING 120 ACTIVE COVID-19 CASES, 331 RECOVERIES; APPROACHING 500 TOTAL CASES

Washington County is nearing a total of 500 positive COVID-19 cases as both new cases and recoveries continue their upward trend.

As of Monday, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS), the county had 497 total positive cases, 120 active cases, 331 recoveries, and 38 deaths.  DSHS is reporting a cumulative total of 3,800 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the county.

As of Friday, the county was reporting 465 confirmed cases, 102 active cases, 313 recoveries, and 38 deaths.

Recently, the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) began releasing facility-level COVID-19 data concerning cases, recoveries, and deaths at nursing homes, assisted living facilities, state supported living centers, and state hospitals.  The HHSC intends to release new data each business day, but as nursing and assisted living facilities self-report data to the agency, the data will be from two weeks prior in order to allow HHSC officials to review the information.

As of July 20th, the only nursing facilities with active cases are Kruse Village and the High Hope Care Center.  Data from the 20th indicates Kruse Village had 19 total cases in residents and 10 in employees, with 18 active resident cases and 10 active cases in employees.  The data shows there are no residents that have recovered and one resident that has died.

Data from July 20th at the High Hope Care Center indicates there are eight residents and five employees that have tested positive for COVID-19.  One resident has died and two have recovered, leaving the facility with five active cases in residents and five active employee cases.

The Brenham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center no longer has any active cases, after reporting 80 positive cases in residents and 33 in employees.  The facility has reported 55 resident recoveries and 25 deaths.  No cases of COVID-19 have been reported at Focused Care, or at the Argent Court, Silver Sage, and Ruth Dallmeyer La Roche Manor assisted living facilities.

  1. I have a question, If I live in Washington county, But my wife and I both got tested in another county( Brazos) Do we get included in the Washington county count or Brazos county ? Just curious .

  2. Almost 500 cases. But yet the ball parks are full and active, church parking lots are full. Weddings, etc. And not much social distancing. What is more important, human lives or the overwhelming need for personal entertainment and gratification? This county has numerous churches and adds another one or two every year, but what’s the point if no one is learning the basic teachings of Christ? Is it all just for guilt relief? Love And respect your fellow human.

    1. Maybe some put their trust in the Lord’s protection and live their life as he intended and not by what the lying, unChrist-like media tells them to. The virus is REAL and is a risk, but LIFE is REAL and ALWAYS been a risk!
