UPDATE: SEARCH TO CONTINUE WEDNESDAY FOR MISSING MAN AT LAKE SOMERVILLE

  

Update Wednesday @ 6:22 a.m.: Authorities will continue their search today (Wednesday) for a fisherman reported missing Tuesday at Lake Somerville.

According to Washington County Game Warden Kyle Yoder, no body was found or recovered as of late Tuesday evening.  The search was suspended for the safety of officers.

Authorities were originally called out just before 1 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, when they learned that a man fishing near the Birch Creek area in Washington County fell out of his boat and into the water.

Yoder said the search for the man will continue at daylight.

 

Original Story Tuesday @ 4:18 p.m.: Local and state agencies are currently searching for a missing man at Lake Somerville.

According to Washington County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Jay Petrash, authorities were called out just before 1 p.m. this (Tuesday) afternoon to the lake.

Petrash said the man fell out of the boat while fishing, according to the fisherman that was with him at the time of the incident.

Officials with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, the Washington County EMS Swift Water Team, Texas Parks and Wildlife, and DPS are all still looking for the missing person.
