WASHINGTON CO. VISITOR CENTER HOLDING ‘TOURISM TUESDAY’

  

The Washington County Visitor Center is holding an event to celebrate Texas Travel and Tourism Week, which takes place throughout the state next week.  

Those who work in tourism related businesses are invited to join the visitor center staff at the bi-monthly “Tourism Tuesday” meeting on May 9th.

The event will be held in the Washington County Chamber conference room at 10 a.m. Attendees will enjoy snacks and have a chance to talk tourism with other industry businesses.

Preliminary estimates show travel spending in Texas increased 1.8% in 2016 to $69.2 billion. The tourism industry supported an estimated 671,600 jobs in 2016, an increase of 3.7% over the previous year.
