WASHINGTON COUNTY APPRAISAL DISTRICT MEETS TOMORROW AT 10AM

The Washington County Appraisal District will meet tomorrow during their normal time of 10am to consider their proposed 2017-2018 budget among other items.

Beginning with a financial report for the past month, the meeting will move to a public forum.

Once that closes, the ’17-’18 annual budget proposal discussion will hear an increase in most area of expenses, including payroll. The 2016-2017 budget had payroll at $549,805, but the proposed budget for 2017-2018 will bring payroll to $557,191. This is even after the expense for teacher retirement dropped from $10,123 to $2,853 across the two budgets.

The largest increase is in Capital Outlay – Land, Buildings, and Equipment which will nearly double from the steady $11,000 it has been since the 2013-2014 budget to $20,770 for the 2017-2018 budget.

The only proposed decrease would come in Professional and Contracted Services, which would drop $450 from $22,450 to $22,000.

The meeting will be held tomorrow (Tuesday) morning at 10am in the Brenham ISD Tax Office Appraisal District Building at 1301 Neibuhr St.

  1. Where is it that we can find the entire budget report? Since this is public information it should be found on a website, correct?
