WASHINGTON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COMPLETE ROAD REPAIR GRANT APPLICATION
The Washington County Commissioners took one more step in applying for a $341,000 matching grant from the Texas Department of Transportation to repair county roads damaged due to oil and gas production.
Washington County Judge Brieden said they had sent off the proposal to TxDot and now the department has approved the plans.
At today’s (Monday’s) meeting of the County Commissioners finalized the application. Judge Brieden said this was one last step that was needed to get this 80/20 matching grant.
Precinct Three County Commissioner Kirk Hanath says this grant application was a ‘paper intensive’ job. Precinct One Commissioner Zeb Heckman said ‘it keeps a bureaucrat a job.’
