WASHINGTON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PURCHASE USED PATROL VEHICLE

Washington County Commissioners approved the purchase of patrol vehicle from the City of Burton for $29,000 during their weekly meeting this (Tuesday) morning.  The 2018 Chevy Tahoe is already equipped as a law enforcement vehicle and includes provisions for a drug dog.  The City of Burton was selling the vehicle after Greg Rolling resigned the Police Chief’s position last August.

Commissioners also approved a resolution with TxDOT for $618,000 in funds for the repair of roads damaged by heavy oil field traffic.  The grant includes a 20 percent match by the county, which commissioner Joy Fuchs said would be spent on the roads anyway.

In other action, the commissioners:

  • Approved the purchase of 2 new truck chassis for the Washington County EMS
  • Approved the purchase of new patrol rifles for the Washington County Sheriff’s Office
  • Approved the Washington County Fairgrounds Management to accept credit and debit cards
  • Honored employees Denice Franco, Janet Daniel, and Jerod Hartfield for their 10 years of service to the county.
