WASHINGTON COUNTY JAIL PASSES INSPECTION

The Washington County Jail has passed another surprise jail inspection.

This is the second straight year the local jail received the passing grade  after an unannounced visit from the Texas Commission on Jail Standards Inspector Fred St. Amant.

Sheriff Otto Hanak says he arrived Thursday afternoon, inspected the life safety, admission, release, records /procedures, personal hygiene, food service, discipline, work assignments and many other areas.

The report was provided to Sheriff Hanak.  The inspections found no deficiencies in the reported.  The Executive Director of the Texas Commission  on Jail Standards issued a certificate of compliance.  Sheriff Hanak credits the hard work of Captain Jerry Green, and Lt. Marlow Lowery and every staff member of the jail for the daily work they perform.  Sheriff Hanak says this is the only way the jail operations remain such a big success.
