WASHINGTON COUNTY NOW ELIGIBLE FOR FEMA FUNDS

Washington County is now eligible to apply for FEMA public assistance reimbursement to road and bridges and other city and county owned buildings from severe storms that occurred in May and June.

In June, the Washington county Commissioners made a formal disaster declaration to become eligible for federal aid, and were quickly added to Governor Greg Abbott’s list of counties eligible for aid.

The threshold of $120,000 needed to receive FEMA assistance has more than been exceeded, according to County officials.

Washington County will receive 75% coverage of eligible expenses, with state and local governments being responsible for 25% of the cost.
