WEEKEND BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT

  

The Brenham Fire Department responded to 2600 Country Meadows Ln on Saturday around 11:14am for a report of gas smell inside a residence.  After investigation BFD could not find any signs of a gas smell.   BFD did turn off the gas to the residence and advised the homeowner to have the gas company check out this system.

Also on Saturday around 3:31pm, BFD responded to 1700 E. Stone St., Kruse Village, for an automatic fire alarm.  Upon arrival and after investigation, BFD found that someone pulled a pull station to set off the alarm, but there was no emergency.  BFD reset the alarm.

On Sunday around 1 am, BFD responded to 1171 Old Phillipsburg Ln. for mutual aid for Salem FD to a report of a structure fire.  BFD along with Salem FD, Berlin FD, Chappell Hill FD, and Bellville FD fought the fire approximately 4hrs before it was determined the fire was extinguished.  The residence was a total loss but no one was injured and all occupants got out of the house safely before FD’s arrival.  The cause of the fire is under investigation by Salem FD.

Also Sunday around 10:05 am, BFD responded to 2009 Old Chappell Hill Rd., Brenham Collection Station, for a report of a mulch pile on fire.  Upon arrival BFD found the mulch was burning on the back side of the pile.  BFD stood by until City of Brenham personnel arrived and decided what to do.  City of Brenham personnel advised they would put sprinklers on the pile.

And finally, on Sunday around 11:49 pm, BFD responded to 2908 Brandenburg Ln. for a smoke odor inside a residence.  BFD determined that the smell came from cooking earlier in the night.  BFD searched the entire house a found no other source for the smell.
