WOODS SWIMS CAREER-BEST AT STATE MEET

Brenham swimmer Shayle Woods turned in her best swim of her career, Friday at the State UIL Swim meet in Austin.

Woods, swimming in the qualifying round of the 500 Freestyle, swam a lifetime-best and school record, 5:10.66.

The time was 10th fastest in the 5A meet, qualifying Woods for the B-Final, Saturday afternoon, at the Jamail Center on the University of Texas-Austin campus.

In Saturday's Consolation Final, Woods finished 6th with a time of 5:14.47.  That placed her 14th overall at the meet.

Ana Herceg of Pflugerville Weiss took the gold medal with a time of 4:59.80.

Lubbock High School took the Girls Team Championship with 186 total points.  Magnolia took third (171) and A&M Consolidated was seventh (111).

In the Boys Team standings, Kingwood Park won the title with 215 points.
