WORD WRANGLER FESTIVAL BEGINS THURSDAY NIGHT IN GIDDINGS

Activities for the 14th Annual Texas Word Wrangler Book Festival get underway tonight (Thursday) in Giddings.

Over 30 authors have been invited to come to the Giddings Public Library for readings, excerpts, and book signings at individual author stations.  The authors invited have written books on anything related to Texas, including children’s stories, archaeology, cookbooks, gardening, and other genres.

Throughout the day today, authors are invited to visit Giddings public schools to talk with students about the writing process, ideas for stories, and how a book is taken from the idea to the written page.

Then, at 6 p.m., a fundraising gala will be held at the library to introduce the authors to the community.  A program honoring “Home-Town Heroes” will follow at 7 p.m.

Tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday, authors will be available to the public to sell and sign their books.

For more information, visit www.texaswordwrangler.com, or www.giddingspubliclibrary.org.

KTEX-106’s Cactus Ken Murray will be at the Giddings library tomorrow morning, broadcasting live from the friendly country cruiser.
