WORK BEGINNING TUESDAY ON HIGHWAY 290 BETWEEN BRENHAM AND BURTON

  

TxDOT will begin rehabilitating existing bridge decks at Holle Creek, Sheppard Creek, and Ganske Creek along Highway 290—between Brenham and Burton—on Tuesday.

The three creek crossings are all within a mile of one another, and are located near the Nueces Canyon Ranch and Artesian Park RV Campground.

Drivers can expect delays, and traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction for the duration.

TxDOT asks for the public’s patience during this work, and encourages drivers to watch for traffic control and messages.  Drivers are encouraged to plan for extra travel time or seek other routes, if possible.

The project is contracted to James Construction Group, LLC.  According to TxDOT’s online project tracker, the total cost for the three bridge decks is $1.06 million.  The project is expected to be complete in September.
