$1000 CASH STOLEN FROM VEHICLE

One-thousand dollars is missing after a motor vehicle burglary Friday morning.

Brenham Police Cpl. Tommy Kurie was called out to the 1600 block of US 290 West in reference to the burglary of a vehicle. He met with the caller who stated that sometime between 10 and 10:30 that morning someone shattered the front passenger side window on his Ford pickup and stole $1,000 in cash along with his bank checkbook.

The victim said he had just cashed a $1,000 check prior to arriving at the business and had left it in his vehicle inside the fenced area.

He added he did see a vehicle with dark tinted windows drive into the area as he was leaving his car.

  1. When are people going to stop making comments on people when they do not know all the information. No Brenham is not the way it used to be but maybe if people stopped being so judgemental and actually cared about the other person we would still have our small town.

  2. When are people going to learn not to be a victim and not to leave valuables inside their vehicle, locked or unlocked? How difficult is it to take your valuables inside? These criminals are counting on the small town mentality that “this is Brenham and it won’t happen to me.” Then are actually surprised when someone breaks into their vehicle and takes what was left in there. Wise up people. This isn’t sleepy little Brenham anymore.
