BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS TO LOOK AT 4 VARIANCE REQUESTS

The Brenham Board of Adjustments will hear 4 variance requests when they meet Monday evening.

The owner of a home at 2400 Dillon Street is asking for a variance for an existing fence that exceeds the city’s height limit of 8 feet.  The fence separates the property from the vehicle traffic on Cantey Street.  Due to the slope of the property, the fence reaches a height of over 11 feet.

The other 3 variance requests deal with lots in the proposed subdivision on 23 acres of land that fronts Gun and Rod Road and Cantey Street.  Thielemann Development Company is requesting a variance of the city’s minimum lot depth and rear setback regulations.  Two of the proposed lots would fall just short of the required lot depth of 115 feet due to the width of the roadway.

The Board of Adjustments will meet Monday at 5:15 PM on the second floor of City Hall.

  1. It’s a little late to ask for a variance now on the fence, The homeowner should have checked the building regulations first , Then built it to code. That is the problem with most people , They always want to bend the rules or not follow them at all, they think that the rules do not apply to them but every one else has to abide by the rules.
