BRENHAM P.D. MAKES MARIJUANA ARRESTS
Brenham Police made a pair of marijuana arrests Friday in unrelated cases.
Friday morning, just before 9:00, Officer Jonathan Phipps pulled over a vehicle in the 2100 block of US Hwy 290 West.
Phipps says he could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
The driver, 36-year old Amanda Anita Rodriguez of Austin, admitted to having smoked marijuana the night before.
During a search of the vehicle, Phipps found both marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Rodriguez was arrested and transported to the Washington County jail, charged with Possession of marijuana under 2 oz. and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Friday night, Cpl. Steven Eilert and Officer Jared Campbell were called out to the 1800 block of W. Main in reference to a noise complaint.
When they arrived the officers heard loud music coming from a vehicle.
One of the men in the car was 34-year old Freddie Lee Franklin Jr. of Brenham, wanted on a warrant for criminal mischief.
Officers say they saw Franklin throw out a baggie, which say had marijuana in it.
Franklin is charged with Possession of marijuana under 2 oz in a drug free zone; tampering with evidence and the warrant arrest for criminal mischief.
