There is a new plant manager for the Fayette Power Plant in Jeff Kickert.
The Lower Colorado River Authority says Kickert will begin his new duties on July 21st.
Kickert come to the FPP near La Grange from the NRG Energy Powerton Station in Pekin, Illinois. He was the plant manager there and was responsible for the safe and efficient operations and maintenance of a 1538 megawatt coal fired power plant and the safety of the 150 workers there.
LCRA Chief Commercial Officer Ken Price says the energy provided by the Fayette Power Plant powers thousands of homes, and it is a key part of the Authority’s energy portfolio.
Kickert brings more than 20 years of experience at power plants to LCRA, including working in operations, electrical, engineering and management.
He takes over from long time La Grange resident and FPP employee Dave Vendel, who was the Acting Plant Manager for the past several months.
