Board and committee members, supporters and volunteers of Brenham Mainstreet gathered at the newly renovated Simon Theater for the first event held in the Tom Bullock Ballroom on the top floor of the historic theater.

They celebrated the many successes of the program over the past 15 years.  Brenham Mainstreet has overseen the construction of Alamo and Belle's Alleys and Toubin Park, hosted 10 years of "Hot Nights, Cool Tunes" summer concerts downtown, and hosted the "Uptown Swirl" Wine Walk and the upcoming "Texas Brew Step" Craft Beer Tasting Event.  In planning for the future of downtown, Mainstreet drafted a Downtown Master Plan, which has been adopted by the City. And to help remember the City's past, Mainstreet hosts "Local History Day" each year for Brenham's 4th and 7th graders to learn about Brenham's unique and colorful history.mainstreet 02

Mainstreet Director Jennifer Eckermann was honored for her work leading the program the past 15 years.  Local architect Tommy Upchurch was also recognized for his contributions to the program, specifically the adoption of the Downtown Master Plan.
