NEW DETAILS EMERGE IN DEATH OF TEXAS A&M STUDENT

New details have emerged in the suspected drug overdose of a 19-year-old Texas A&M student.

Authorities are now saying that fraternity members in the Sigma Nu house waited 31 minutes to call 911 after discovering that Anton Gridnev overdosed.

Police say that someone from the house called College Station Medical Center and asked what to do if someone overdosed. Fifteen minutes later, another call was made to the medical center. The caller requested help, but did not want police involved because of the use of drugs. Another sixteen minutes passed before anyone called 911.

When authorities arrived, Gridnev was unconscious and unresponsive. Witnesses at the house said that he was celebrating his birthday and he may have ingested ecstasy, hydrocodone, Xanax, and possibly heroin.

Authorities say they found drugs out in the open in eleven rooms. According to investigators, they seized scales and documents of drug sales, as well as cash.

Four men were arrested after Gridnev was found: Samuel Patterson, 21, Michael Frymire, 20, Christian Sandford, 18, and Ty Robertson, 21.

  1. So sad you send your son off to college to get an education and he returns home in a casket. I have a son who has been battling addiction for years. It is a problem for all parents and children from all walks of life so you can’t ever say it could not happen in your family or extended family or among your friends. All his fraternity friends have to now live with not having gotten immediate help for their friend. They were afraid of getting into trouble over the drugs and now they are in even deeper trouble. Their parents sent them off to college to get an education and now they will most likely end up as felons and spend time in jail. I don’t know what the solution is to our drug problem in our country. It looks like we need to start teaching drug and alcohol prevention on a greater scale in our schools and even in our churches, temples and mosques….the question is, at what age level.???

  2. tell me who your friends are, and I will tell you who you are. Need to know that you go to college to get a degree not drug. I blame everyone here. Sorry for the loss of life. Prayers to the family. Learn from a big mistake. Choose your friends wisely.

  3. I totally agree with TL. They won’t be smiling when they hear the jail cells closing on them. They will have to answer to a Higher Being. My prayers to the family of the deceased young man.

  4. Am I the only one enraged every time I see this picture and they are SMILING. A young man lost his life and whether it was your fault or not I don’t believe it is appropriate to be grinning in the mug shots.

    1. I’m with you in that TL. Those smiles are very inappropriate. It makes me sick to think that they “might” have been able to save their frat brother if they would have called 911 in the beginning.
