PET ADOPTION CENTER LEADS JULY BUILDING PERMITS

The City of Brenham’s Pet Adoption Center lead the list of building permits issued in July.  The new 2.9 million dollar Pet Adoption Center is being constructed next to the current Police Station on Longwood Drive.  Fourteen commercial permits and 19 residential permits were issued in July for a total just over 3.7 million dollars.  That greatly exceeds the July 2014 permit total of five hundred sixteen thousand.

So far this year the city has issued over 21 million dollars in building permits.  During the same time period last year, just under 17 million dollars in permits were issued.

  1. What a wonderful way to spend taxpayers money. Pets are the most loyal creature on Earth!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They deserve a nice facility, definitely not wasted money in my opinion.

  2. There is so much wasted tax payer money in Brenham and America! Horrible! This is great for pets and animals! Plus half a million was donated! Well done to whoever donated money! Great job!

  3. We all spend dollars on a lot of unnecessary things but helping animals and having a nice place for the poor creatures is priceless. There’s a lot of money that has been wasted on un-needed or unnecessary things in this town but this will not be wasteful!

  4. Yes it is!

The Brenham Pet Adoption and Care Center is a unique partnership between both the public and the private sectors. An anonymous donor has generously gifted the campaign $500,000, the City of Brenham has agreed to providing $1,000,000 through bonds, and our capital campaign will help us reach our goal.

You can judge the morality of a nation by the way the society treats its animals.
