New requirements for high school graduation will be a topic of discussion when the Brenham School District’s board of trustees meet Tuesday night.
High school students are now required to pass five State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) end-of-course exams to meet new graduation requirements.
The State Board of Education is expected to hold a final vote on the bill’s graduation requirements later this month.
Trustees will also hear results of the 2012-13 district financial audit.
They’ll also hear another update on the construction of a new elementary school and renovations at the middle school.
The board will also recognize the LEGO Research and Competition teams, and the Brenham Cub football team that played for the State Championship in December.
The board will meet Tuesday at 6 p.m. in rooms 111 and 113 at the high school.
