TWO QUIRKY DWI BUSTS THIS WEEKEND

The officers found 27-year old Antwine Dewayne Graves , of Hempstead to be ‘very confused’ and was telling him he had been shot in the leg.

Graves needed a walker to get out of his car,, but once out, he failed a field sobriety test.

Graves was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

This was the second DWI offense that Brenham police handled on Saturday.

A failure to stop at a stop sign, and a slew of other moving traffic offenses led to DWI arrest of a 27-year old  Brenham woman and a 22-year old man for public intoxication.

Officer Jared Campbell pursued a pickup truck after he saw the driver nearly run a stop sign, then stopped in the middle of the intersection  in the 1100 block of Prairie Lea at about four in the morning.  The driver than made several wide turns  and erratic lane changes before pulling over.

Once Officer Campbell came up to the pickup, the driver opened the door. He was hit with a strong odor of alcohol and saw an open 12 pack of beer.

Rachael Kelley of Brenham was arrested for driving while intoxicated and her passenger Ryan Carl Kent was arrested for public intoxication.
