WOMAN FACES CHILD ABANDONMENT CHARGES
Brenham police arrested a 24-year old mother of two for abandoning her children Tuesday afternoon.
Officer Jonathan Phipps found Kayla Lorraine Mulanax at a hotel room in the 2200 block of South Market. She allegedly dropped off her two children with the children’s father on May 12th, with no intention of returning to get them.
The father reported this incident from the 400 block of Lott Lane. Brenham police had been searching for her since then.
Mulanax is charged with child abandonment, a third degree felony that could send her to prison for ten years.
