MAN KILLED IN GRIMES COUNTY COLLISION

A 66-year old Grimes County man was killed this (Tuesday) morning on Highway 30 near Carlos when he pulled out in front of a delivery truck.

Trooper Jimmy Morgan of the Texas Department of Public Safety says that Howard Gerver, driving a 2009 Isuzu SUV, was at a stop sign, facing north on FM 244 at 10:55am Tuesday morning, when he pulled out into the path of the delivery truck.

The delivery truck, driven by 57-year old Ben Short of Bryan slammed into the SUV, killing Gerver at the scene. Gerver’s wife was injured along with Short.  Both of them were taken to the St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bryan for treatment.  There is no report on the extent of the injuries.   The collision remains under investigation.
