CUBS REMAIN UNBEATEN IN 18/4A

Cubs’ sophomore pitcher Broc Bosse rebounded from a sub-par performance Tuesday night, with five strong innings to help lead the Cubs to a 9-4 win at Huntsville, Friday night.
Bosse held the Hornets scoreless over five innings as the Cubs built up an 8-0 lead. Bosse struck out three, surrendered just two hits and didn’t walk a batter in upping his record to 4-1 on the season.
The Cubs (12-6/7-0) took a 2-0 lead in the second inning as Sam McElreath drove home Rayne Richard with a fielder’s choice. James Baker also score on a throwing error.

Brenham broke the game open with six runs in the third inning. Dakota Brewton and Tyler Watts drove in runs with singles. McElreath delivered a two-run single followed by a squeeze bunt by Jacob Stegent.
The Cubs will close out the first half of district play Tuesday night when they host Caney Creek at 7:00 at Firemen’s Park.
