BRENHAM POLICE MAKE SEVERAL MARIJUANA ARRESTS

Two people were arrested for marijuana possession during a late night traffic stop Monday.

Brenham Police Cpl. Seth Klem stopped a car at West Alamo and Jackson Street at 11:15pm, for a defective taillight.  During the contact he could see some marijuana residue on the floor and center console.  Sgt. Jason Derrick was called in for backup, while Klem searched the car.  The search found a small amount of marijuana in a plastic bag.

There were a total of four people in the car but the marijuana was found in arms reach of the driver and front seat passenger.  Eighteen year old Terrel Blake Clemons of Austin and 19-year old Anaeto Kashon Oji of Garland were arrested for the misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

Brenham police are looking for even very small amounts of marijuana.  In a traffic stop just before 10pm Monday night, a 43-year old Brenham man was arrested during a traffic stop on South Market.  During the stop, Officer Justin Schiller asked the driver, 43-year old Jimmy Ray Johnson if there was anything illegal in the car.   He said there was a ‘doobie’ the very end of a marijuana joint in the ashtray.  A probable cause search also found a small bag of marijuana.
