WAVE OF K2 OVERDOSES IN TEXAS

In less than one week, almost 120 people in the Austin and Dallas areas have overdosed on K-2,  the synthetic form of marijuana.

Law enforcement sources are telling state media outlets that the overdoses in both cities are likely related, and the drug originated with a Dallas supplier.

Users smoke K-2, and while it is suppose to simulate marijuana, it can have a wide range of effects.  Patients often have to be sedated.

Toxicology tests are now being done to see if all of the overdoses came from the same source.

While most communities in Texas, including Brenham followed a federal mandate, to make the synthetic marijuana drugs illegal, the ingredients are so common it is difficult to regulate their use.
