WOMAN KILLED IN ACCIDENT ON HIGHWAY 105
Investigators say they believe heavy rain was the main factor in a fatal two-vehicle accident Friday afternoon, near the Washington/Grimes County line.
An Ohio woman was killed and four other people injured after a pickup hydroplaned and struck an SUV head-on on Highway-105 near Washington Bridge Road.
77-year old Helen Perry of Toledo, Ohio was a passenger in the SUV. She was taken to the College Station Medical Center where she died about two hours after the accident.
The driver of the SUV, 55-year old Annette Osborne of Brenham is in serious condition at The Med.
The driver of the pickup, 29-year old Gabriella Regis-Pacheco of Washington, is in stable condition at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Bryan.
49-year old Martha Pacheco-Rios of Washington, a passenger in the pickup is in serious condition at The Med, while another passenger in the pickup, 1-year old Jesus Sierra is in stable condition at St. Joseph’s.
The accident completely shut down Highway 105 for over an hour after the crash.
Authorities continue their investigation.
