UPDATE–MAN STABBED IN LATE MORNING ATTACK
Two men are in police custody after a late morning fight that resulted in a stabbing near downtown.

Brenham Police were called out to a disturbance at 11:40 Wednesday morning at the 400 block of S. Market.
Officers found 24-year old Jeremy Wade Vaughn had been stabbed in the back. Vaughn was transported to Scott and White Hospital in Brenham and is reported in stable condition.

46-year old Michael Carter of Brenham was arrested at the scene. Carter was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Vaughn also faces a charge of Class-A assault.
Vaughn told Sgt. Kelvin Raven and Officer Hunter Andreas that Carter had stabbed him in the back while the two were fighting.
Carter's bond has been set at $250,000. Vaughn's bond is $1500.
The investigation continues.
