SYNTHETIC POT BUST

  

A man sitting in his car in the 900 block of Weldon Trace during the noon hour Friday, aroused the suspicion of Brenham police officer Joseph Merkley so he came over to ask him some questions.

When 25-year old Edward Britton saw Officer Merkley approach him he tried to drive away.  Merkley then got into his patrol car and stopped him.  It turned out that Britton did not have a valid driver’s license  and he could see marijuana residue on his shirt.  That prompted a probable cause search that found synthetic marijuana.  Britton was arrested for driving while license invalid, possession of marijuana and possession of synthetic marijuana.
