SMALL PLANE CRASHES AND KILLS THREE

  

Federal Aviation Administration investigators have revealed the identities  of the three people who were killed in the crash of a single engine airplane en route from Aspen, Colorado to the Brenham Municipal Airport Wednesday afternoon.

The airplane went down near the rural west Texas town of Morton, about 50 miles southwest of Lubbock.

The Cochran County Sheriff’s Office said last (Thursday) night that the pilot, 61-year old Thomas Joseph Taylor of Abilene and his two passengers, 36-year old Matthew Axtell of Basalt, Colorado and 51-year old David Bradley Patton of Carbondale, Colorado were killed in the crash.

A Federal Aviation Administration report says the single engine plane, a Piper PA -46 aircraft dropped off the radar at about five pm, Wednesday.  Law enforcement officers found the wreckage near Morton.   The National Transportation Safety Board is also investigating.
