CITY COUNCIL GETS ROAD REPAIR UPDATE

  

Brenham City Engineer Grant Lischka told today’s (Thursday’s) meeting of the city council that Burleson Street needs some extra work in pavement repair but he is looking for ways to make the repairs less expensive.

Lischka said the remaining repairs would be about $68,000 to repair a three foot trench. He said further that leaves about $50,000 available for the remaining pavement repair.

Lischka said after reviewing the roadway he believed the street department could do the job for a lower cost.

The Brenham city council also reviewed fees for inspections and code enforcement.  Health care, sprinklers, underground fire lines and kitchen vent hood are all going up from $50 to $100.

The city staff asked the council to consider waving fees for Blinn College, the Brenham Housing Authority, the Brenham ISD, and the state of Texas.

The city council also hired the accounting firm of Seidel, Schroeder and Company to audit the city’s books for the fiscal year ending in September.
