MOTORIST REMINDED OF CHAPPELL HILL STREET PARTIAL CLOSURE
Drivers are being reminded of a road closure on a portion of Chappell Hill street beginning on Monday, and is expected to last at least two months.
The closure is due to Chappell Hill Street receiving improvements, and that includes extending Chappell Hill Street to Stringer Street, and a portion of Stringer Street will eventually be renamed as Chappell Hill St.
The closed section of Chappell Hill will be from Lawndale Street to Market Street.
In addition to the road extension, the work will include the addition of traffic signals at Chappell Hill and Market streets.
Eventually, another section of Chappell Hill Street will be extended south of Highway 290, which will eventually become a new park. Ed and Evelyn Kruse are the land donors, and will fund that work.
Motorist are asked to find alternate routes during the closure period.
The Stringer Street Extension project is being funded through debt issuance, and is entirely a city project.
