BELLVILLE ISD RECEIVES CLEAN AUDIT

The Bellville ISD has received a clean audit approved by the board of trustees for the 2014-2014 financial audit at the November 20th meeting.

The audit was conducted by Sauls and Pechacek.

The trustees also heard reports from Michael Coopersmith, Principal of Bellville High School, who gave a presentation on the student interest inventory and course survey, which is a part of House Bill 5, and is an effort to try and give the kids what they want and to see what they are interested in.

House Bill 5 brought about new graduation plans for students, which includes the general standard curriculum and various enforcement tracks.

Also presented was the Highly Qualified Teacher’s Report, which, for 2014-2015, has a 96.4 percent of core academic subject areas in the district taught by highly qualified teachers, and 100 percent of the paraprofessional at Title 1 School met the qualifications.

The Board will not meet in December. The next meeting is January 15.
