BURTON RANKED AMONG TOP-100 TEXAS HIGH SCHOOLS

  

Burton has been ranked among the top 100 public high school in Texas.

The group “Best Public High Schools” ranks Texas high schools based on dozens of statistics and over 4-and-a-half million opinions from over 280,000 students and parents.

The study says a high ranking indicates that the school is considered an exceptional academic institution with a diverse set of high-achieving students.

Burton High School ranked #78, receiving grades of “A” for teachers, resources & facilities, and extracurriculars & activities.  They received an “A-” grade for academics, health & safety, student culture and sports & fitness.  Burton received and overall grade of “A”.

The only other area school ranked in the Top-100 is A&M Consolidated in College Station at #69.

Brenham High School ranked 350th in Texas, with an overall B+ rating.  The school received an “A” for educational outcomes and student culture & diversity.  Brenham was given a grade of “B+” for both academics and sports & fitness.

Other area high schools: Snook, 232; Sealy, 426; Giddings, 451; Bellville, 550; Rudder, 627; Somerville, 706; Navasota, 831; Caldwell, 853; Bryan, 863; Hempstead, 1,028.

The top-ranked high school in Texas is Austin Westlake, followed in order by: Austin Liberal Arts & Sciences, Dallas School for Talented & Gifted, Science Academy of South Texas in Mercedes, and Plano West.

  1. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE BURTON HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS (current & alumni), TEACHERS, ADMINISTRATION & BOARD MEMBERS (CURRENT & FORMER)…

    As a former board member and parent of 2 sons who graduated from there. … I can honestly say that I always knew the day would come when our great students and exceptional administration at both the elementary & high school would see their hard work pay off!!!

    What an honor for our students, our school as well as our town. Way to go Burton Panthers…. Way to Go!!! You have set the standards high…. so keep up the great job!!!
    But from having 2 sons there… I have to give an extra big kuddos to KAREN STEENKEN WHO HAS DONE AN AMAZING JOB AS HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPLE!!! Thanks for everything…. 🙂

  2. GREAT job!! Numbers are nothing without the love and nurturing. I graduated here in 1985 and so did both of my sons; I feel myself and they were prepared for the next level. Keep up the good work BHS!!
