CHANGES IN VEHICLE INSPECTION STICKER RULES BEGIN ON SUNDAY
The State of Texas is implementing a Two Steps One Sticker program for vehicles and is informing Texas drivers of the new law.
Beginning Sunday, March 1st, the state will stop issuing vehicle inspection stickers. At this point, in order to register your vehicle, you will be required to pass a vehicle inspection not more than 90 days prior to the date your registration expires.
After passing an inspection, the inspection station will update your electronic inspection record with the results and will issue a paper vehicle inspection report.
When you go to register your vehicle, your inspection will be verified electronically, and if all is in order, the registration will move forward.
For more information on the program, go the TXDMV website at www.txdmv.gov and select “Two Steps One Sticker” under the Motorist tab.
