BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT

  

The Brenham Fire Department was dispatched to Hermann Furniture located at 213 West Alamo, Brenham on Saturday around 9:32am to investigate a smoke odor/ electrical issue.

BFD responders checked the building and determined the problem was an electrical issue. Some of the store's lights, and AC units did not have electric power since Friday afternoon when a vehicle crashed into a nearby utility pole affecting the electric service to the store.

The City of Brenham Electric Department crew arrived and found a blown fuse.

The fuse was replaced and electrical power was restored to the business.

 

The Brenham Fire Department was dispatched to residential fire alarm on Saturday, around 11:06am at 410 W Chancy Street.

BFD responders investigated and determined the alarm was set off by steam from the shower/ no other action taken.

The Brenham Fire Department was dispatched to Blue Bell Creameries for an automatic fire alarm around 3:31pm on Saturday.

BFD responders investigated and determined this was a false alarm.

 

On Saturday around 4:27pm, the Brenham Fire Department was dispatched to the intersection of S. Austin and West Fifth Street for a smoke investigation.

Upon arrival BFD found a small pile of oak tree blooms smoldering beside the curb. BFD extinguished the smoldering blooms. On Saturday, April 5th around 9:45 pm, BFD responded to 2135 US Highway 290 W, at the Westwood Travel Center, for a gas spill in the parking lot.

Upon arrival the BFD found a small amount of gas was spilled near the gas pumps. BFD used dry absorbent on the spill.
