AUSTIN MAN SENTENCED FOR STEALING/CRASHING VEHICLE
An Austin man has been sentenced to six years in prison in 21st District Court in Brenham, this week.
36-year old Louis Rhyne of Austin was arrested for Evading Arrest and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle back in April of last year.
Rhyne reportedly led authorities on a chase Washington Co. in a stolen pickup, reported stolen out of Austin. Rhyne crashed the truck on Wolf Creek Road, off FM-390, then fled on foot.
He was sentenced by District Judge Carson Campbell to six years in prison on the Evading Arrest charge and one year for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.
Also in 21st District Court this week:
55-year old Johnny Scurry of Brenham was placed on four years’ probation for Driving While Intoxicated – Third Offense.
Scurry was also fined $1500, ordered to perform 180 hours of community service, and spend 10 days in the Washington County Jail. His driver’s license was also suspended.
27-year old Jarvis Jermaine Williams of Houston was sentenced to five years in prison on a State Jail Felony charge of Forgery. Williams was also fined $2000.
35-year old Naketha McDade of Hempstead was placed on six years’ probation and ordered to perform 240 hours of community service on a charge of Theft – With Two Previous Convictions. McDade was arrested in August of 2014.
And, 45-year old Carolyn Joanne Murski of Brenham was placed on three years’ probation for Possession of a Controlled Substance
