SANDERS SHINES; NEWTON STRUGGLES IN SUPER BOWL
Super Bowl 50 Sunday, featured two players with local tied.
Former Bellville Brahma and SMU Mustang Emmanuel Sanders caught six passes for 83 yards in helping the Denver Broncos defeat the Carolina Panthers, 24-10.
Sanders excelled in football, baseball, basketball and track at Bellville – receiving seven all-district honors during his high school career.
Former Blinn Buccaneer quarterback Cam Newton completed just 18 of 41 passes for 265 yards for the Panthers, against a tough Broncos defense.
Newton led the Buccaneers to the 2009 NJCAA National Championship, throwing for 2,833 yards and rushing for 655 yards, and was an NJCAA All-American.

Way to go Broncos! Great for Manning and Kubiak! And what about that Defense led by Von Miller! Wade Phillips called a great game and Ware and the rest of the defense were awesome! Sanders played a huge role in SB 50 Victory!!
