AUSTIN MAN ARRESTED IN BRENHAM FOR MONEY LAUNDERING

  

An Austin man remains in the Washington County Jail on felony charges of money laundering and related crimes.

Brenham police arrested the man on Thursday following a traffic stop along US 290 East. At the time of the stop, the man identified himself as Frank Osoreo. As the investigation continued, Washington County Communications identified the man as Frank Osoria Romero from Austin and he had an active warrant out of Missouri for counterfeiting.

During a probable search of the vehicle officers located numerous credit cards, cash, blank master cards, and methamphetamines. Romero was charged with money laundering, fraudulent use/possession of identifying information, two counts of unlawful use of a criminal instrument and possession of a controlled substance.

His bond has been set at $500,000.
