SOMERVILLE TO HOLD 3RD BOND ELECTION FOR NEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

The Somerville School Board approved calling for a $12.6 million bond election on May 7th to build a new elementary school complete with a cafeteria and gymnasium.

Charles Camarillo, Superintendent of Somerville ISD says that the location for the new school would be where the baseball field is currently located with parking around the field. He goes on to say that the baseball field would be relocated near the softball field.

On two previous accounts in 2014, a $12.5 million bond issue failed – both for a new elementary school, renovations at the high school, and a new cafeteria and parking lot high school and elementary staff.

The board is hopeful for the 3rd time around as they are focusing solely on the elementary school.
