BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT CONSIDERED DEFICIENT IN NUMBERS
The Brenham Fire Department is considered deficient in the number of paid personnel currently on staff according to Mike Pietsch of PE Consulting Services.
Pietsch brought to the City Council last week that the Fire Department should add three more paid firefighters by the end of this year and an additional three every year until 2019. Brenham Fire Department currently has an average of eight paid firefighters that are on duty at all times. Pietsch says that there should be at least 12 on duty at all times.
Pietsch also recommended building a new substation next year on the new extension of South Chappell Hill Street. He recommends this site because this area is expected to develop most over the next year.
