LAGRANGE MAN ARRESTED ON POSSESSION CHARGES

  

A LaGrange man has been arrested for possession of a controlled substance in Fayette County.

At 11:45am this morning (Tuesday) Deputy Michael Otten stopped 34 year old Zachary Townsend on Highway 71 East of LaGrange near Airport Road for a traffic violation. Deputy Otten contacted Townsend and saw a container with a green leafy substance. Townsend admitted that the substance was marijuana and he was taken into custody. 

After a search of the car was complete Deputy Otten located crystal meth, a meth pipe, marijuana, Xanax bars, and a scale with plastic baggies used for packaging the narcotics for distribution. 

Townsend was arrested and charged with 2 felony possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.
