LOCAL FEMA DISASTER CENTER TO CLOSE NEXT WEEK
Thursday will be the last day of operation foe the local federal disaster recovery center at the Washington County Fairgrounds.
FEMA officials say the center will officially shut down at 6:00, Thursday evening.
The center, to assist victims of May 26-27 flooding, opened June 20th at the Washington County commercial exhibits building at the fairgrounds.
Officials estimate the damage in Washington County from the storm could reach over $2-million.
Washington County was one of nineteen Texas counties declared disaster areas. Also included in the disaster area are: Austin, Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Lee, Montgomery, and Waller Counties.
