WASHINGTON COUNTY FEMA REQUESTS REACH NEARLY $1-MILLION
FEMA reports over 200 Washington County residents have filed applications for nearly one-million dollars in assistance in the wake of May’s storms and flooding.
According to Rita Egan, local FEMA coordinator, 217 approved applications have been filed for a total of $975,271.
Statewide, 4,800 applications have been approved worth a total of $31.6-million.
In other nearby counties:
Austin County has 25 applications for $943,146; Brazos County has 150 applications for $711,651; Fayette County has 15 applications for $91,517; Grimes County has 140 applications for $540,231; Lee County has 24 applications for $330,653; and, Burleson County has 49 applications for $252,160.
The Deadline to file applications for the May flooding is Wednesday, August 10th.
Meanwhile, Egan reminds those affected by the April flooding that the deadline to file for FEMA assistance is Friday, July 29th.
So far: Austin Co. has filed 165 applications for $1,110,018; Colorado Co. has 33 applications for $ 271,250; Fayette Co. has 24 applications for $141,038; and, Grimes Co. had 90 applications for $ 342,742.
Egan adds that there may be more individuals and families who, for one reason or another have not yet registered.
