FORMER VET CHARGED WITH D.W.I.
The former Brenham veterinarian who became the center of a storm of controversy after she shot and killed a cat with an arrow was reportedly charged with drunk driving several months ago in Houston.
KHOU in Houston is reporting that Police say a car driven by Kristen Lindsey nearly hit an off-duty Precinct 5 deputy on I-10 back in March. The deputy called in a report of an erratic driver.
A Houston police officer stopped Lindsey on the South Loop at Stella Link.
The officer say she was found to be impaired, arrested and charged with DWI.
Lindsey was fired from her job in Brenham last year after she posted a photo of the dead cat and bragged about killing it on Facebook.
Lindsey said she believed the cat was feral, but a family claims it was their pet.
An Austin County Grand Jury said it did not have enough evidence to charge Lindsey with a crime.
She is in the midst of a fight to keep her veterinarian’s license.
