BURTON SCHOOL BOND FORUM TONIGHT

The group, Build a Better Burton School, will host a forum tonight (Thursday) providing information about a possible bond election for the Burton School District.

Tonight’s (Thursday’s) forum at 6:30 at the Burton Volunteer Fire Department will be the first of several forums to be held by Build a Better Burton School.

According to Superintendent Edna Kennedy, school officials have been discussing a possible bond election to pay for a number of projects she says are needed to accommodate district growth…

Also included will be expansion of the cafeteria and kitchen as well.

Kennedy, architect Tim Gescheidle and financial advisor Robert Traylor will present the various options tonight (Thursday).  They have not given an exact figure for the bonds yet.

In order to get the bond issue on the November general election ballot, Burton school officials will have to act quickly.  In addition to tonight’s (Thursday) forum at 6:30 at the Burton Volunteer Fire Department, three more forums are planned by the Build a Better Burton School group.
