NAVASOTA ANIMAL SHELTER AT CAPACITY
The Navasota Animal Shelter is facing an overflow crisis and is appealing to the community to help.
The shelter is over capacity with cats and dogs. Lori Toliver, the animal control officer that oversees the shelter, says that the animals are routinely left outside the gate in boxes or crates. On August 17th alone, a group of 7 puppies showed up seeking refuge.
With no more room available, Toliver is asking the community to become involved. People can either adopt or foster one of the pets. Anyone interested can call 936-825-6641. The shelter is located at 1607 Nolan St. in Navasota and is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
